New Report Shows Importance of Dynamic Scoring
WASHINGTON D.C. – A new report issued by the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) and the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on the Tax Relief Extension Act of 2015, which would extend certain expired tax provisions, shows the importance of dynamic scoring said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi (R-WY) today. The use of dynamic scoring by JCT and CBO allows the full economic impact of the legislation to be included in the deliberative process as Congress considers taking action. The report was compiled by JCT and CBO using dynamic scoring as part of a requirement in the FY 2016 Concurrent Balanced Budget Resolution approved by Congress earlier this year.
“We have in hand a good start for the estimating improvements included as part of the balanced budget resolution earlier this year,” said Chairman Enzi. “This is something which we can build upon as we go forward in this new era of better legislative scoring and honest accounting.”
