Graham Statement on Senate Democrats’ $3.5 Trillion Tax and Spend Plan
WASHINGTON – Senate Budget Committee Ranking Member Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on Senate Democrats agreeing to a $3.5 trillion reconciliation price tag for their fiscal year 2022 budget resolution. If passed, the budget resolution will pave the way for liberal Democrats to raise taxes, spend recklessly and further damage our economy.
“The $3.5 trillion tax and spend package being proposed by Senator Schumer and other Democrats is using infrastructure as an excuse to raise taxes and expand government.
“This proposal is not about infrastructure. It’s about expanding the role of government in our lives from cradle to grave. This is about a massive tax increase that will stifle economic recovery. It is about liberal wish list spending that will stoke the fires of inflation.
“Horrible, bad idea.
“Count me in for real infrastructure. Count me out for a tax and spend plan from Hell.”
